I was one of the first on the norwegian luna and here’s why it’s a celestial event

Norwegian Cruise Line took the quote “shoot for the moon” very seriously while crafting the Norwegian Luna.
When I first arrived for the voyage, I set my eyes on the stars decorating the brand new vessel, which was beautifully designed by Brooklyn-based street artist ELLE, who is also the grandmother of the ship. Little did I know the exterior was just the beginning of the spectacle that awaits guests who board the Luna.
Once I got to unpack at my stateroom, I was instantly transported into the “dreamscape” as a piece of the mural was incorporated into the contemporary, spacious design that set a new tone for cruising. Between the serene decor, the Bliss Bed Collection mattresses and the ocean view, I don’t exaggerate when I say it was one of the most restful nights of my life.
While it is tempting to enjoy the comfort of the room all day, there’s too much excitement and entertainment to be experienced throughout the rest of the ship with the NCL-exclusive Aqua Slidecoaster and Moon Climber, which is a brand new, multi-level interactive course that both kids and adults can enjoy. (I’m not joking– The attendant told both my mom and me that we spent 30 minutes in it.)
Even though my voyage only took me to NCL’s private Bahamian island, Great Stirrup Cay, there were many times when the amenities and restaurants brought me to other parts of the world. There are 12 cities highlighted within just the ship’s “Wonders of the World” mini golf course. I also got a taste of Las Vegas during the burlesque-style show LunaTique Pop Circus.
I love thrills just as much as tranquility, which is why the best part of the vessel has to be the Mandara Spa. Once you step foot inside the state-of-the-art facility, every trouble washes away with the sound of the two-story waterfall and the smell of the herbal steam room.
I have to admit, though, relaxation was available way before I sat in one of the saunas or heated stone loungers overlooking the ocean.
The back of the ship is made to be an upscale retreat for those 18 years or older. The Vibe Beach Club offers premium lounge seating and cabanas, accompanied by two infinity hot tubs and a dedicated bar.
Just below the adults-only sun deck is NCL’s exclusive “ship-within-a-ship,” The Haven, which is a must for guests looking for a VIP experience. Along with 24-hour concierge service, the luxury enclave features a private restaurant, bar and pool strictly made to be accessed by those staying in this area.
Needless to say, the Norwegian Luna has changed the game for cruising, creating the first vessel that is equally crafted for adults and children.
During the christening ceremony, NCL President Marc Kazlauskas described it as not only a “world-class resort” but also a “playground.
“She’s a collection of experiences – food, music, energy, quiet moments – stacked deck by deck into something that feels alive,” he said.
In the end, Norwegian Luna doesn’t just raise the bar. It sends it into orbit.
